Case Study: Dom Spinoso 5’ 8” 168 LBS 91 MPH
His height is 5’8” which is in the 17th percentile of athletes in our database. His bodyweight is 168 LBS which is in the 25th percentile. The the key reasons Dom is able to throw 91 MPH, is his incredible ability to accelerate his body. His vertical jump (37”), broad jump(10’2”) and 10 yd sprint (1.51 sec) are all in the 99th percentile! His lateral broad jump is also in the 88th percentile. Combine this with his impressive mobility and it’s easy to see what makes Dom elite. What he lacks in leverage and mass, he more than makes up for in acceleration. ...
Trying to power the back hip through with leg drive while horizontally abducting throwing arm to pull hips and shoulders apart. This is how a throwing athlete utilizes the stretch shortening cycle through his core and converts potential energy into kinetic energy. A lot of athletes start driving back leg, but let there shoulders move with their hips. Need to make it a habit to power back hip open and delay trunk rotation to maximize hip to shoulder separation. If you cannot separate the two, you are leaving velo on the table. Watch full episode on YouTube. Link in my profile. ...

Pulling Exercises: Vertical VS Horizontal
(by @forefrontathletics )
📍When you look around at the gym, you can always find someone who is either bench-pressing as hard as he can, doing tons of crunches, or flexing their biceps in front of a mirror.🙈
They all have great look from the front with magnificent chest, shoulders, arms, and abs (or "mirror muscles”) but ordinary from the back. And the reason is easy to understand.😂
📍Pulling movements are so important in many aspects. They help to improve the postural problems that many people commonly have with their sedentary lifestyle, “text neck”, poking chin, rounded shoulders, just to name a fill. 👍
These problems could be exaggerated with too much pressing exercises. So balancing the push-pull exercises ratio is the key, for example, you could have a dumbbell row for every bench press.🚣🏻♂️
📍No one wants to get injuries, but without including any pulling movement could definitely put your shoulders at risk, especially rotator cuff issues.🤕
Training the external rotators (infraspinatus and teres minor) regularly would reward you a strong and healthy body in your fitness journey. 💪
