Introduction Post Continued... ✨
•
Yesterday morning I posted a little introduction post for those who may be new here, or those who just want to know a little bit more about how I got started. The post ended up going into a lot of detail about my initial move to Cleveland, and I ran out of room to tell you about my business. 🙈 So, let’s try this again!

After moving to Cleveland back in 2011 and working in Product Development for American Greetings for 5 years, I decided to start a side project to fulfill my creative passions. Photography, art, design, & styling have always been interests of mine, so I started taking portraits and family photos of friends and family members to gain some experience in photography. It was around that time (the summer of 2016) that the Cavs were in the playoffs and even went to the finals. Well, we all know they ended up winning it all that year, and Cleveland threw a BIG party to celebrate.

On the day of the Cavs Parade, I went to work at American Greetings as usual. About halfway through the morning, I decided to take the rest of the day off to do something that I thought might change the course of my newly founded business. I knew there had to be a way to capture that day, but it was too late in the day to get any kind of good spot/angle for photos amidst the crowds, so I figured the best thing to do would be to go above the city. I ended up calling every helicopter company in Cleveland, and after being told they were all booked, I called one back and asked to buy out someone’s spot. It worked (and it cost me 😆), and by noon I was up in the sky with @micheeeele and @dustinfox 37. After the helicopter ride, I dropped Michele and Dustin off and went straight home to edit the photos and post them for sale as prints and frames on my website. That first weekend, we sold thousands of prints, and 6.22.16 became a day that would change my business forever.

Well, since I’m being cut off again, I’ll share how my business transitioned to include apparel in my next intro post. Thanks for reading and following along with my story. ❤️ ...
