I’ve called this piece finished twice before, but now I’m seriously vowing not to touch it again. I tried to eliminate the mixed-media, and create a 100% acrylic painting... but I kept staring at her on the wall, knowing that she *needed* gold leaf. I titled this piece “A Celebration of Nature’s Elements” because that’s basically what’s happening here. She’s dancing in the fire, which rises to smoke up to her toes. Under the fire, the water extinguishes the flames, nourishes the soil above it, feeding the seeds in the earth, to create the life that breathes the air above.
