words can’t do this show justice. 💔 @ava smashed this series following the ‘exonerated five’s’ stories. It was heartbreaking and emotional to watch. I couldn’t binge watch it. So the actual suffering and agony it must have taken to retell this story and EXPERIENCE this must have been an out of this world experience.
I send love to everyone affected by this show because it’s not a lone incident. people of colour have been under attack by this so called ‘criminal justice system’ for ages. These men are so strong and deserve the world. No amount of money could bring back their youth and their time. But their innocence is something they treasure and hold dearly. To all of you, we see your suffering even today and you are believed and loved and change is coming. There can’t be another ‘Central Park Five’. We need to ensure justice is served and severe reform is needed or shall I say we need to introduce a genuine ‘criminal justice system’ into our society.
The media played a MASSIVE part in the conviction and the trial and the lives of these boys, because that’s what they were just boys. But with their exoneration and their freedom there was little media coverage. When they see ‘black boys’ it’s immediately guilty due to their unconscious or conscious racial bias. They were judged before they even went to trial. 400 articles were written very quickly after they were taken into custody. It shows there didn’t need to be any evidence or facts to convict these boys in the eyes of the people before ANY TRIAL.
Fairstein was one of the ones who played a major role in these boys prosecutions despite any evidence apart from coerced ‘confessions’. She’s lost her career now, but that’s not enough. She deserves to be prosecuted losing her career isn’t enough. NEVER. Her laziness and ignorance led her to knowingly convict and steal these 5 boys futures and let the real rapist continue on his murder and killing spree. She is responsible. Let justice be served. And imagine being innocent with little or no evidence against you and someone taking ads in BIG newspapers to call for the death penalty, for children, to BECOME THE PRESIDENT. 💔
LONG BUT NEAT POST AHEAD ‼️
This past year I was able to do some research that was very important for me and my family- I got to research the impact of the #BlackLivesMatter and what other countries around the world have started their own movements to champion black lives. Following my research I decided to make some hashtags that other countries could use to help further the movement and start a global conversation on the injustices that black/POCs face world wide. I made these shirts to give those hashtags a jumpstart.
If you are down for the cause and want to join this global conversation slide in my dms for a shirt- all proceeds will go to the Black Lives Matter Utah chapter.
The movement starts with us. ✊🏾 📸: @kennamarie 123 ...

Protests against the rules of Omar al-Bashir first broke out in December 2018. He was a Sudanese dictator for three decades and was responsible for conducting an ethnic cleansing campaign in Darfur which killed tens of thousands of people. He has been accused by various groups of war crimes and is primarily responsible for the deterioration of economic conditions in Sudan, which has led to the rising cost of living. In April 2019, al-Bashir was removed from power by the Sudanese Armed Forces. Although he is gone, this has led to a power vacuum and the military coup has dissolved the legislature and suspended the constitution.
Just last week, well over a 100 pro-democracy protestors were killed and at least 700 injured. There have also been reports of paramilitaries carrying out more than 70 rapes during an attack in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

Today marks the 4th year death anniversary of the victims of the Charleston Massacre. On June 17, 2015, a white supremacist coward by the name of Dylan Roof murdered 9 people in cold blood at a church in South Carolina 😩😔😢#charelstonsc#massacre#blacklivesmatter#neverforget ...
