The Nipsey mural in my room is complete. 🙏🏽🏁💙 I couldn’t be more proud of you @poohlaah for taking up the challenge & challenging me back in the process. I thank you for being fearless & inspiring. You hitting the scene hard Pooh & it’s an honor to see you bloom in your greatness. I got two legends among me everyday now y’all.
@nipseyhussle I wish I had the courage to run up to you and tell you how much you’ve motivated me all these years. I met you once in 2008 at UCLA, you were on a panel discussing the portrayal of black women in the industry, your energy was unmatched and you articulated yourself better than me lol. I wasn’t anywhere near as outspoken as I am now so I just stared at you in awe; like I’m staring at you on my wall now. Since then, when you & #BlaccSam opened up y’all “Slauson Ave” store, now known as @the_marathonclothing , I made it my business to go support. I was floored to see a man, from the same corners I walked on with my grandma everyday to the school right across from your store, be more than what the streets ever told you that you could. I want you to know you made me and people from The Crenshaw District proud. I’m honored to have been able to witness you when I did. Long Live you Legend. This is my way I thought I could honor you & by continuing the marathon through my writing and giving people the messages they need, the freedom they need. I love you 💙
