Seeking blessings at Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu today.
I visited this temple for the first time with my parents back in 2010. It was my first 8000m expedition to Mt. Everest.
This place is pulsating with positivity and energy I just can’t describe in words.
Today’s visit has made me even more grateful for being given the opportunity to live my dreams.
Big big thanks to @pinkkstagram for making this visit such memorable one!! ❤️ Quick update on the expedition - I shall be flying to Pokhara on the 27th morning and further up towards the base camp of Annapurna 1 if the weather permits us.
Due to extreme snow conditions this year, trekking into the Base camp with all the expedition gear won’t be possible.
Thankfully I don’t have a problem in acclimatisation to lower oxygen levels. Too much running around with all the prep for the coming 40 days.
Sorry that I haven’t been so active on Social media. Thankyou so much for sending in all the positive energies, good wishes, blessings and kind words. Extremely overwhelmed by all the love that I get from each one of you.
From @pixelsbygk - Sometimes the sky isn’t as dramatic as you’d want it to be!
The mountains do not have as much character as you’d prefer them to have!
The water doesn’t reflect any particular color due to a flat sky!
But does that mean its not worth taking a shot??
Absolutely NOT !!!!
I realized this after I half heartedly took this shot, didn’t care about composing it well as I thought I’m never going to use it !!
Here am I posting the same shot just because individually those components may have seemed to be a little flat but together they definitely make a scene! Only nature has that magic !!
2018 was a record year for Everest summits. The previous record year was 2013 with 670 total summits by all routes. For 2018, the Himalayan Database shows 802 summits and only 1 who did not use supplemental oxygen and 68 females. The Nepal side saw a total of 562 summits made up up 266 foreigners (aka members) and 296 High Altitude Workers (aka Sherpas). For the members who got above base camp, 76% went on to summit. On the Tibet (aka Chinese) side there were 110 summits for workers and 130 by foreigners for a total of 240 summits. 66% of the members above base camp summited. There were a total of 5 deaths in spring 2018, 4 on the Nepal side and 1 on the Tibet side. 1 climbing was climbing without supplemental oxygen and was on the south side.

You can hear the chatter of the crowd all around you, the traffic below you, and the murmurs of prayers as each wheel turns. This woman held an energy about her - it was palpable as she walked counter clockwise around the monkey temple gently touching each prayer wheel. | Kathmandu, Nepal, 2018 ...
