#DRC 🇨🇩: In collaboration with long-term local partner Eben Ezer Ministry International, Street Child are working with communities in two different locations in South Kivu, one of the most conflict-affected eastern provinces in the DRC.
The first is in the High Plateau, a remote mountainous region which suffered some of the worst violence during the civil war. Due to its remote geographic location and ongoing inter-ethnic violence and insecurity, the High Plateau remains difficult to access and as a result very few NGOs work there.
Street Child are working to revitalise the education system across South Kivu and to improve the communities’ ability to support their children’s education. We are achieving this through a multi-level approach that includes school construction, teacher training, school quality management, engaging parents, removing economic barriers to education and tackling social and cultural barriers that prevent disadvantaged girls from receiving education.
Over the coming days we will be sharing stories of some of our beneficiaries in the DRC and how we are supporting them thanks to your generous donations.
