Rejection sucks 🙅🏽♀️👎🏽. Recently I was rejected from a big grant for my research. I think I’m starting to get better at rejection. But it still stings. I know it’s part of the academic life, so I better get more comfortable with it and quick! ⠀
I will be talking more about it on my blog next week. Including a meditation on dealing with rejection. ⠀
Is there anything specific you want me to address about rejection? ⠀

Hey Scholars, I know it has been a minute since I have posted but I am back in Ottawa now. If anyone is interested, here is how my break went: I had lots of family time, ate lots of food, drank lots of wine. But I only submitted my final paper two days ago (the day before my first class of this semester) and I asked for an extension (which I never do). I had this hanging over my head the entire break. So although I had time with family and friends, I don't feel like I truly was able to relax and rest. Yesterday I came home from class and slept from 2pm until 8am this morning. It is safe to say, I haven't figured out how to balance work and life yet. This makes me anxious for when courses end (this April ahhh) and I have to start managing my own schedule. This is where I am at right now. I know this isn’t your typical starting off 2019 with green juices, goals for the year and butterflies post but I am just keeping it real. And I’m sorry for being so quiet but just haven’t felt like myself lately. I plan on starting my 2019 next Monday 😂 and get back on track then. Did you have a break? If you did, what did yours look like? ...

Third Year Day 34,35,36
I fell a little behind in my Instagram posts this week 😅 On Thursday I had a short day as I did my journal club in the morning and after that I was mentally exhausted. Friday was hectic as I had some lab work, training for my teaching job and then I finally got my GSEA analysis to work 🌟 Today I spent the first day of my weekend at the gym, headed into the city to do some shopping and then spent some time in the lab. 🧪
Next week will be just as busy, but I’ll make sure I don’t fall behind in sharing my science life with you all!
It’s shaping up to be one of those low-sleep weeks! Appellate Brief Argument due tomorrow, an interview in the morning, two outlines to finish up before midterms next week, and family in town 👯♀️ I’ve always really liked keeping busy; I think something about it makes me feel important 😂 but it’s tough on top of job hunt stress and wanting to have a fun weekend with family. Trying to manage my time accordingly today, and thankfully I was productive over the weekend to put myself in a not-panicked situation tonight. 💕 proofreading & submitting some things tonight and off to bed (hopefully not too late)! 💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽 I just put on @essie in “tuck it in my tux” for a lil calm interview pink polish 💅🏽💅🏽💅🏽 #lawschool#lawschoolblogger#1L#1llife#1lofaride#0L#whatlikeitshard#futurelawyer#prelaw#lawstudent#lawstudentproblems#postgrad#gradschool#legal ...
